Crane Prairie Reservoir

Crane Prairie Reservoir is one of many lakes located along the Cascade Lakes Highway the starts in Bend, circles around Mt Bachelor and ends near Crescent, about an hour south of here.
This is a valuable osprey nesting area and provides good fishing for man as well as the birds.
From left to right, the mountains in the background are South Sister, Broken Top and Mt Bachelor. Bend is pretty much behind Mt Bachelor. We are looking just a little east of north.
The Deschutes River enters and leaves the reservoir on it's way to Bend.

I just like the composition of this photo. It's very busy but interesting.

I find that you have some great landscapes here, you obviously enjoy getting outside.

Fantastic landscape shot. The clouds look like puffs of smoke from a volcano. I love the snow on the mountains.

This was taken a few weeks ago so most of the snow is gone now. However, there is some snow predicted in the latest weather report! Don't know if I'm ready for winter!
The "clouds" are actually a collection of jet trails. Looks like Bend is on the flight path to lots of places.
